Slipknot's Corey Taylor confirms he appears in Sharknado 4!
And he's pretty stoked to be a part of the cult franchise
HUGE NEWS! Slipknot and Stone sour hero Corey Taylor has landed a role in the latest instalment of the cult Sharknado franchise.
The rocker plays a Shark World Hotel security guard in Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens, which premieres on the SyFy network in July.
Clearly stoked to be in the awesomely awful movie, Corey enthused to Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez: “I shot a weird cameo in Sharknado 4. Awesome! So rad!
“The thing is I don’t even get eaten by a shark, man. I kind of run in – I’m a security guard – it’s funny. That’s all I can tell you about it.”
Sharknado: The 4th Awakens takes place five years after the seismic events of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! and sees Ian Ziering reprise his role as shark-fighting hero Fin Shepard with Tara Reid returning as April Wexler.
Ryan Newman, Cassie Scerbo and David Hasselhoff will also be returning in the movie.
Elsewhere in the Loudwire interview, Corey opened up about appearing his Slipknot bandmate Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan’s directorial debut Officer Downe.
“I have a little role in Clown’s movie Officer Downe that is actually going to be debuting in June, which is pretty rad,” Corey said.
“It’s something he was very passionate about, he worked his arse off and I know because I watched him. I’m really stoked for him, it’s his first movie which you’re going to be able to watch in a theatre.”
The film is based on the graphic novel Officer Downe, penned by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, which follows a police officer who repeatedly returns from death to fight crime.
Corey plays a completely sold at show at London's KOKO this coming Sunday (8th May).
