Their eleventh album lands in September

Slayer have unleashed the hard-hitting cover to their upcoming new album ‘Repentless.’

Created by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco in collaboration with Kerry King and Tom Araya, the powerful cover art is packed with biblical and anti-religious imagery including a tortured Jesus Christ.

“We had a number of submitted ideas for the cover artwork,“ says Tom Araya. “And we felt Marcelo’s was the best. We made some suggestions and the result is an awesome album cover.”

Set to drop on 11th September via Nuclear Blast Records, ‘Repentless’ is the first Slayer album to feature new member Gary Holt (Exodus) and returning drummer Paul Bostaph following the untimely passing of co-founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman and the departure of Dave Lombardo in 2013.

“Repentless is my Jeff tribute,” says Kerry King. “I call it the HannemAnthem. It’s my perspective of Jeff’s perspective, it’s what I think… If Jeff wrote a song for himself, Repentless would be it.”

The album was co-produced by Greg Fidelman and Terry Date who count Metallica, Pantera, Soulfly and Bring Me The Horizon amongst their vast amount of production credits.

Slayer are also touring the UK this November. Get your tickets from Kerrang! Tickets right now!
