Slayer Unleash New Song & Sign With Nuclear Blast

Thrash legends Slayer have released a brand new song for free!

Hours after the band premiered it at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles last night, the typically brutal ‘Implode’ has been made available as a free download from Slayer.net.

‘Implode’ was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles and produced by Terry Date and co-produced by Greg Fidelman. Have a listen to it here:

In more exciting Slayer news, the band will start recording their eleventh studio album later this year, tentatively set for release in early 2015.

It will be their first release on Nuclear Blast Records, via the band’s own as-yet-untitled label imprint, ending a sprawling 28-year relationship with American Recordings.

It will also be the first Slayer album not to be produced or executive produced by Rick Rubin since 1985's ‘Hell Awaits.’

“Rick has played a huge role in our career, we’ve made some great albums with him,” said Slayer’s Tom Araya.

"But today is a new day, record companies don’t play the kind of role they once did, and we really like the idea of going out on our own, connecting directly with our fans, and Nuclear Blast is fired up about taking on that challenge with us."

Nuclear Black manager Gerardo Martinez added: "The prospect of helping Slayer take a leading role in the creative process surrounding their releases, projects and other cross-promotional opportunities is the ultimate honour for me, a metalhead who grew up in Los Angeles listening to Slayer.

“Nowhere in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that Nuclear Blast would be making history alongside one of the best bands in metal.”
