Sixx:A.M. have started teasing a collaboration with Slipknot and Stone Sour's Corey Taylor, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, Guns N’ Roses legend Slash and more.
An image has been posted to Sixx:A.M.’s social channels counting down to an announcement this coming Friday (21st August) alongside the hashtags #MaybeItsTime #Letssavelives.
Beneath the #MaybeItsTime hashtag on the image, the mystery project says it features the aforementioned Joe Elliott, Slash and Corey Taylor plus Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody, Tommy Vext of Bad Wolves, Awolnation and country music singer Brantley Gilbert.
Although there are no further of the details of the collaboration, ‘Maybe It’s Time’ is the name of the fourth track on Sixx:A.M.’s sixth studio album ‘Prayers for the Blessed, Vol.2’, which was released back in November 2016.
Fans have speculated that it could be a new version of the song for charity featuring a series of guest performers from the rock world. We’ll wait and see!
Formed in 2007, Sixx:A.M. consists of Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist and multi-instrumentalist James Michael.
Appearing on the Behind The Vinyl podcast back in May, James Michael confirmed there may be some new Sixx.A.M. music in the pipeline.
He said: “We have gotten together since 2016 or 2017, whenever we last toured. We wrote and recorded a few new songs, we did some new versions of songs, so we've got a lot of stuff in the can, actually, that we put together for a best-of or a greatest-hits, so to speak, album which we will be releasing.
“I'm not sure of the exact timing of that, but that is in the cards, so there is gonna be some new Sixx:A.M. music coming out.”
After Mötley Crüe tore up their cessation of touring agreement last November, the band were due to be touring the US this summer alongside Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett on The Stadium Tour. The gargantuan trek has now been pushed back to summer 2021 because of Covid-19.
