The Rolling Stones will play a huge one-off gig at London’s Hyde Park this summer.

Taking place on Saturday 6th July, the event is part of the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park series.

The gig is almost 44 years to the day since The Stones’ historic first headline gig at Hyde Park on 5th July 1969. As well as seeing the live debut of guitarist Mick Taylor, it also became a poignant tribute to Brian Jones who died two days earlier.

Also performing across the four stages on the day are The Vaccines, The Temper Trap, Palma Violets, The Boxer Rebellion, Tribes, Gary Clarke Jr. and many more.

Mick Jagger commented: “We had such a great time playing the five concerts last year, we want to keep it going! Hyde Park holds such great memories for us and we can’t think of anywhere better to perform to our UK fans this summer.”

Keith Richards added: “We all had such a ball last year, and the energy between the band is so good, we can’t wait to get back on that stage where the Stones belong.”

Tickets for The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park go on general sale 9am Friday 5th April. As always head to kerrangradio.co.uk/tickets to check availability.

Bon Jovi, Bush and Kaiser Chiefs are amongst the acts playing the first night of British Summer Time Hyde Park on 5th July.

Last week it was confirmed that The Rolling Stones will headline Glastonbury 2013 alongside Mumford & Sons and Arctic Monkeys.
