Red Hot Chili Peppers finishing eleventh album with Radiohead producer
Chad Smith posts a photo from the studio
Red Hot Chili Peppers are putting the finishing touches to their eagerly awaited eleventh studio album with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.
The Californian rockers have been working with Grammy Award winning producer/Gnarls Barkley star Danger Mouse (U2, The Black Keys) on the record but have now also drafted in Godrich for the final stages.
Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith posted a picture from the studio yesterday along with the caption: “Started mixing the new record today! @nigelgod at the helm.”
Often referred to as the sixth member of Radiohead, Godrich was also a member of supergroup Atoms For Peace with Flea and Thom Yorke.
Speaking to Q Magazine about the as-yet-untitled Chili Peppers album last month, Flea enthused: “We’re heading into a new era and we’re really excited.
"It’s new and different but without sacrificing the good bits of us. There are some songs we already had, and some new ones too. I can’t wait to play it live."
