Red Hot Chili Peppers To Cover Led Zeppelin at The Super Bowl
Drummer Chad Smith confirms the news
Red Hot Chili Peppers will cover Led Zeppelin’s 1967 classic ‘Dazed & Confused’ at The Super Bowl halftime show this weekend.
The Californian rockers will perform a short set during the world-famous halftime spectacle alongside vertically challenged purveyor of middling pop music Bruno Mars.
Asked by Artisan News about what they’re going to play, drummer Chad Smith said: “We’re going to play Led Zeppelin’s live version of ‘Dazed & Confused’.”
Personally asked by Mars to share the stage at the halftime show, Smith admitted they initially didn’t know too much about the singer.
“We were surprised,” Chad said. “We only knew of Bruno Mars… but we met him and his band and they seem like great people so we decided to do it.”
The 48th Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos takes place at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday night (2nd February).
