Rammstein’s fervently-awaited seventh studio will reportedly land before the end of 2018.

Yesterday (Monday 18th June), the German industrial metal titans announced details of two special shows in Mexico over the New Year period.

The band wrote: “Rammstein return to Mexico after two years – choosing Mexico's heavenly beaches to throw an unforgettable two-night only and very exclusive show this December 31 and January 2 in Puerto Vallarta. This unique experience is only for a limited group of fans around the world.”

Rammstein then linked to a ticket site, which said that they were close to completing their new album and Mexican fans will “very likely be the first to hear the new songs.”

It reads: “At this time, the band is in the final phase of the production of their seventh studio album which will be released before the end of the year, so Mexican fans will very likely be the first to hear the new songs, also highlighting that these concerts are the ONLY that the band opened in the whole world during 2018.”

Back in April, Rammstein posted a series of photos from the recording studio on social media along with the caption: ‘Work in progress #Rammstein’.

Rammstein’s sixth studio album ‘Liebe ist für alle da’ was released in 2009 and their last musical morsel from the studio was standalone track ‘Mein Land’ in November 2011, which featured on their greatest hits album ‘Made in Germany 1995–2011’.

In an interview promoting their concert film ‘Rammstein Paris’ in March last year, guitarists Richard Kruspe and Paul Landers confirmed they had dozens of songs “almost finished” for the long-player.

Kruspe told Bucksttabu: “We have 35 new songs almost finished, so it’s worth the wait.”

Pushed as to when the material might see the light of day, Kruspe sadly dodged the question: “That is always the big question!”

Landers chipped in: “There’s a great chance of an excellent album – we already have six very good songs.”

Rammstein’s last two UK shows were headlining Download Festival in 2016 and 2013 respectively. Their last full headline tour took place more than six years ago in February and March 2012.
