Rammstein have 35 new songs vying to appear on their seventh album
It's been eight long years
Eight long years on from their last studio effort ‘Liebe ist für alle da’, it seems that Rammstein could finally be releasing their seventh studio album imminently.
In an interview promoting their concert film Rammstein Paris, guitarists Richard Kruspe and Paul Landers confirmed they have dozens of songs “almost finished” for the long-player.
Kruspe told Bucksttabu: “We have 35 new songs almost finished, so it’s worth the wait.”
Pushed as to when the material might see the light of day, Kruspe sadly dodged the question: “That is always the big question!”
Landers chipped in: “There’s a great chance of an excellent album – we already have six very good songs.”
The German industrial metallers have also just shared a live video for Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen?, which is lifted from their spectacular concert film Rammstein: Paris. Check it out below.
Screened at UK cinemas last Thursday (23rd March), Rammstein: Paris was shot over two nights at the Bercy Arena back in 2012 and is directed by the award-winning Jonas Åkerlund.
Following its premiere on the silver screen, Rammstein: Paris will be released globally on DVD and Blu-Ray on Friday 19th May.
Jonas Åkerlund said: “Concert films are always a big challenge. I compare it to shooting fireworks. The way I approach it is to try to translate the energy that you get in the room onto film, using every trick in the book to make as much of an impression as I can on the audience.
“We shot two nights at the Bercy Arena in Paris, and we had 30 cameras, so that gives you 60 angles, plus we shot a dress rehearsal for close-ups. That gives you a massive amount of footage.
“This is a 2 hour 20-minute show, and I take the footage and cut it with the same precision that I would a 3-4 minute music video. Even with a big crew of editors, it took us over a year to nail down the edit.
“Looking at it now – that is the strength of this project. It really brings the show alive and shows what Rammstein is all about.”
