Queens of the Stone Age Score First US No.1
'… Like Clockwork' brushes Daft Punk aside
Queens of the Stone Age have scored their first ever number one album in their native United States of America.
The critically acclaimed ‘… Like Clockwork’ sold 91,000 copies (12,000 of which were vinyl) to knock Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’ from the chart summit.
Their previous highest entry on the Billboard 200 was number five with ‘Lullabies To Paralyze’ back in 2005.
‘… Like Clockwork’ narrowly missed out on the UK top spot on Sunday losing out to Disclosure’s debut album ‘Settle’.
Queens of the Stone Age play the Download Festival this Saturday (15th June) shortly before headliners Iron Maiden take to the main stage.
