The politically-charged Prophets of Rage have unleashed a typically hard hitting new single.
Titled ‘Living on the 11O’, the blistering track focuses on the plight of Los Angeles’ homeless population and how their lives are at odds with the affluent people they come into contact with.
"There's no end to poverty stopping me / Or democracy, hypocrisy," Public Enemy’s Chuck D raps amidst trademark Tom Morello guitars.
"'Living on the 110' is a song that speaks to the issue of homelessness," Morello says in a statement.
"The 110 is a freeway in Los Angeles and living beneath it are thousands of homeless people. Bentleys and Rolls Royces roaring by are literally driving on top of the poor and their makeshift homes, a picture perfect analogy for the grotesque economic inequality that plagues our times."
You can hear a tantalising snippet of the track below and listen to it in its entirety here.
'Living on the 110' is the latest taster of Prophets of Rage’s upcoming self-titled album ‘Prophets of Rage’ following last month’s scintillating single ‘Unf--- The World’.
