Pixies Bassist Kim Shattuck Leaves The Band

She's 'super disappointed' to be going

Kim Shattuck has announced that her tenure with the Pixie has come to an abrupt end.

The 50-year-old Muffs front woman joined the band in July when Kim Deal quit and toured extensively with them to support the release of ‘Bagboy’ and ‘EP1’.

However, less than five months on Kim has revealed on her official Facebook page that she’s reluctantly departed.

“Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today,” she wrote.

“Amazing experience. Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone.”

Frank Black, Joey Santiago and David Lovering are yet to make an official announcement on Shattuck’s exit.

Pixies tour the US in January and headline Field Day in London next June. It’s currently unclear who will be replacing Shattuck.
