He protests against the use of leather

AFI singer Davey Havok has posed completely naked for a campaign by animal rights group PETA.

The 40-year-old singer, who is straight edge and staunchly vegan, stripped off to front a fresh anti-leather campaign by PETA (People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals) that comes with the slogan “I’d rather go naked than wear leather” and tagline “Rock the skin you were born in. Let animals keep theirs.”

Explaining why he is taking part in the initiative, Davey said: “I was raised on rock ‘n’ roll, like many people, and the leather jacket was a part of that culture. “But no article of clothing, feeling of confidence, or otherness is worth the torture or the murder of an innocent creature.”

In other AFI news, the band are among the first wave of acts confirmed for Download Festival next summer.
