Pearl Jam and Jane's Addiction pick up Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations

The full list of nominees for the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have been unveiled today (18th October).
Artists are eligible to be nominated for the prestigious honour 25 years after the release of their first studio album and Pearl Jam have been given a nod at the first time of asking - debut ‘Ten’ was released in 1991.
Electric Light Orchestra, Jane’s Addiction, Depeche Mode, Journey and Steppenwolf are among the acts who have also received their first ever nomination.
Yes have made the long list for the third time, while The Cars, MC5, The Zombies and Kraftwerk have also picked up a nomination once again.
The top five acts will be decided by a combination of public vote alongside the voting body consisting of 800 artists, historians and music industry figures.
The inductees will be announced in December and the televised ceremony will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in April 2017. They will then be immortalised at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.

For the first time ever, the Hall of Fame has announced the individual band members of each group nominated.
Yes are represented by Jon Anderson, Bill Bruford, Alan White, Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, Trevor Rabin and the late Chris Squire.
Electric Light Orchestra lynchpin Jeff Lynne is joined by Roy Wood, Bev Bevan and Richard Tandy on the ballot while of Pearl Jam’s five drummers from over the decades only current drummer Matt Cameron and founding member Dave Krusen will be honoured.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established by Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun on 20th April 1983 to honour artists who helped shape the history of rock n’ roll.
