Pearl Jam's 10th Album Is 'Almost Done & Sounding Great'
Founding member Stone Gossard reveals
Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard says the band’s tenth studio album is “almost done” and “sounding great.”
The 46-year-old, who is preparing to release his second solo album ‘Moonlander’ later this spring, says the band just need to put the finishing touches to the follow-up to ‘Backspacer’.
"We're almost done," Stone told Billboard. "It's sounding great. I think people are going to be excited about it. It's still crossing our T’s and dotting our I's right now and trying to get it finished, so that's the plan."
In a separate interview with Artist Direct, Stone confirmed that Pearl Jam will be hitting the road in support of the album.
“When we finish the record, we'll start figuring out some dates,” he explained. “I'm assuming this album will be out by the end of the year, if all goes well.
“That's the plan. There's no news about what it sounds like yet, but it's going to be a good Pearl Jam record. There's no question about it. It sounds really good to my ears right now.”
September 2009’s ‘Backspacer’ peaked at number nine on the UK charts and at the top spot in Pearl Jam’s native US.
