Paramore Score Second UK Number One
Their self-titled fourth record rockets to the chart summit
Paramore have stormed straight in at number one with their self-titled fourth album.
Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor’s critically acclaimed record outsold last week’s number one, Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’, by more than two copies to one.
It’s the band’s second UK chart topper following the success of ‘brand new eyes’ in 2009.
Hayley Williams enthused on Twitter last night: “Our record went #1 in the UK!! Can't even tell you how it feels to have so much support and love for this album. Thank you!!”
Taylor York added: “#1 in the UK. That is mental. Thank you!”
Together with the album chart triumph, current single ‘Still Into You’ has leapfrogged 57 places to enter the Top 40 at number 26.
Elsewhere on the album chart, the second part of Stone Sour’s double album – ‘House Of Gold And Bones: Part 2’ – narrowly missed the top ten at number 11.
