Paramore’s new album could be here imminently after ‘track names’ leak online
Fans have been waiting almost four years
Paramore have reportedly registered the names of 12 brand spanking new songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Scouring ASCAP’s site, an eagle-eyed Paramore fan spotted an album’s worth of previously unheard tracks with songwriting credits primarily attributed to band lynchpins Hayley Williams and Taylor York.
Recently returned drummer Zac Farro co-wrote three of the listed songs, while MewithoutYou singer Aaron Weiss apparently contributed to a track called ‘Idle Worship Outro’.
Fan account The Paramore Band shared a screenshot of the tracks on social media yesterday afternoon sending Paramore’s legions of faithful followers into meltdown.
Paramore have been spending much of the past year working on the follow-up to April 2013’s ‘Paramore’ and in an Instagram update in January, Hayley admitted they were struggling to hit their stride.
She told the band’s 1.6million followers: “about a year ago, we began writing & demoing songs for #5
“following up our self-titled album didn't seem like it was going to be an easy task and, unsurprisingly, it was not. the problem about comparing yourself to... yourself... is that even though it's better than looking elsewhere, you're still looking in the wrong direction.
“for me, it wasn't until i trusted that the past is finished with me that i could go looking for what's next. our pasts can be a great comforter, or a horror movie; a noose, or a shield... but it is "past" for a reason.
“after a rest, we have to go looking for what's supposed to come after that. – h”
At three years and 11 months since the release of ‘Paramore’ it’s already the longest time fans have had to wait for a new album - there was a three-and-a-half-year gap between ‘Brand New Eyes’ and ‘Paramore’.
