Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix: 'My Uncle Gave Me Herpes'
The frontman makes a surprise revelation
Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix has made the surprise revelation that his uncle gave him herpes.
In an interview about “firsts” with Hit The Floor Magazine, Jacoby was asked to recount when his first kiss was.
"My first kiss was when my uncle kissed me and he gave me herpes. It was terrible,” he revealed.
“Anybody else got herpes? Yeah, you do. Don't lie to yourself. I know you got it, you watching this."
Although Jacoby didn’t divulge what type of herpes he caught, it’s more than likely to be herpes labialis – more commonly known as cold sores.
Papa Roach unleash their upcoming eighth studio album ‘F.E.A.R. (Face Everything and Rise)’ in early 2015.
Speaking to Kerrang! recently about the meaning behind the title, Jacoby said: "There's obviously been an element of hope within the despair of the music that we write, and I think that that's always key, and that's very important to what we do, is to always have that element of hope, and that's laced throughout the record."
Musically, he said it was "all things good Papa Roach - it's big, banging riffs, it's a very guitar-heavy record
“It spans across the board, from heavy to reflective, to just in your face, out of control. It's just everything that we believe is great about Papa Roach."
