Ozzy Osbourne Apologises For Drugs and Alcohol Relapse

He sets the record straight in a Facebook post

Published 16th Apr 2013

Ozzy Osbourne has released a statement on his official Facebook page this morning confirming that over the past 18 months he has relapsed with drugs and alcohol.

The Black Sabbath frontman was reacting to media reports, which claimed that he and his wife Sharon were on the verge of splitting and living separately.

In a candid post, 64-year-old Ozzy wrote:

For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.

I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans.

God Bless,

Ozzy

Ozzy is due to fly to New Zealand later this week where Black Sabbath play two dates before shows in Australia and Japan.

Produced by Rick Rubin, Black Sabbath’s 19th studio album ‘13’ is finally released on 11th June. It’s the band’s first record with Ozzy on vocals since 1978’s ‘Never Say Die!’
