One Direction Admit To Ripping Off The Clash
They pilfered from the punk legends "on purpose"
Pop pipsqueaks One Direction have audaciously admitted to ripping off The Clash on their latest sickly single.
!When their track ‘Live While We’re Young’ premiered last week thousands of rightfully indignant music lovers complained that the opening guitar hook sounded exactly like the start of The Clash’s 1981 classic ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go’.
Incredibly, rather than defend themselves or deny the complaints, Harry from the boyband has now said they copied the track intentionally.
“It was kind of on purpose … It’s a great riff,” he told the BBC.
His bandmate Louis somewhat naively added that it was almost impossible for people to create music nowadays without copying something else.
“I assume it must be quite difficult to do a unique riff now because there have been so many songs, surely there’s only so many riffs you can pull out?,” he explained.
Yeah, right Louis.
Check out the opening riffs below (SANITY WARNING: Only listen to the opening few seconds of One Direction)
