Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have scooped the coveted Best Original Score – Motion Picture honour at the Golden Globes.

The Nine Inch Nails band members attended the star-studded ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles last night (Sunday 5th January), where they picked up the Best Original Score for their work on the Luca Guadagnino film Challengers.

Reznor and Ross triumphed ahead of Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist), Hans Zimmer (Dune: Part Two), Volker Bertelmann (Conclave), Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot), and Camille and Clément Ducol (Emilia Pérez) in the category.

During their acceptance speech, Atticus Ross said: “This really means a lot, particularly in this special moment. First I’d like to thank my best friend, my musical partner, the great Trent Reznor. The music never felt like a safe choice, but it always felt like the right one.

“I’d like to thank the maestro, the visionary director, our friend Luca Guadagnino… To be honest, we always thought we’d get the call ‘Can you just turn it down a little?’ But it never came, and here we are.”

Reznor and Ross are also nominated for two Oscars for Challengers – Best Original Score and Best Original Song. The Academy Awards bash takes place on 3rd March 2025.

The duo previously won Best Original Score awards at The Oscars in 2010 for The Social Network, and in 2020 for Soul.

In total, Reznor and Ross have won 33 awards to date, including BAFTAs, Emmys, Golden Globes, Grammys and the aforementioned Academy Awards.
