Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil pleads guilty to assaulting female autograph hunter
He narrowly avoids jail
Former Mötley Crüe star Vince Neil has escaped jail after pleading guilty to pulling a woman to the ground by her hair.
The ugly incident happened back in April outside the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas when the woman approached Neil’s friend Nicholas Cage for an autograph.
The unnamed victim says she was “left stunned, and suffered a sore neck ... as well as pain in her lower back and hip” as a result of Neil’s violent actions.
Neil’s lawyer entered a guilty plea yesterday to a charge of misdemeanour battery. He will pay a $1000 fine, spend six months on probation and undergo impulse control counselling as part of the plea.
The misdemeanour battery charge could have carried a six-month jail sentence.
Footage of the aftermath of the incident uploaded by TMZ shows a shocked looking Nicholas Cage attempting to calm and restrain Neil following the confrontation.
After his arrest, Neil claimed he had “pushed past” the woman as she was demonstrating “very aggressive behaviour”, however police obtained security footage that showed Neil exerting force.
The woman has also filed a separate civil lawsuit against Neil suing him for at least $150,000.
