He hits out the pop star in Hollywood

The ever-cantankerous Morrissey has hit out at pop star Beyoncé accusing her of being responsible for the impending extinction of rhinos.

!Following The Smiths legend’s meat-free show at The Staples Centre on Saturday night, Morrissey played an intimate show at Hollywood High School auditorium on Sunday where he hit out at Mrs Carter.

He told the sold-out audience: "The rhino is now more or less extinct, and it's not because of global warming or shrinking habitats. It's because of Beyonce's handbags. So, God bless the rhino."

Beyoncé has been the target of ire from animal rights campaigners for some time now having allegedly worn a bodysuit at the Super Bowl made out of python, iguana and cow skin.

Just last week PETA (The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) slammed Beyoncé for ordering a pair of Perfectly Made Kicks shoes apparently made from anaconda skins, stingray, ostrich, and calf hair.

PETA said in a statement: "These custom-made kicks come with a high price and it's paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed.

"We hope that Beyonce will choose to wear more clothes from her own clothing line, which features faux fur, and that one day, she'll go completely cruelty-free.”
