Metallica Unleash New Track 'Lords of Summer’
Listen to a "garage demo version" of the song
Metallica have premiered a “garage demo version” of their much-hyped new song ‘Lords of Summer’.
The metal titans performed the track live for the very first time at Parque Simon Bolivar in Bogota, Colombia on Sunday night with hundreds of fans uploading poor quality versions of the performance to YouTube.
In response the band have uploaded a rough version of the eight minute epic to YouTube so fans can (kind of) hear how its meant to sound. Check it out here:
‘Lords of Summer’ is Metallica’s first new material since 2008’s chart-topping ‘Death Magnetic’.
Metallica started work on their tenth studio album earlier this year. Kirk Hammet said at the time: “We're pretty excited about it because we've been saying we need to start working on this album, but we've been procrastinating greatly with it.
“We've pretty much come up with every sort of excuse we can not to start work on the album, but we've run out of excuses, so we pretty much have to start work on it now."
Metallica headline Sonisphere alongside Iron Maiden and The Prodigy this July. Get your tickets from kerrangradio.co.uk/tickets now!
