You'll have to stay up late for it

On the eve of their US tour kicking off at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore next week, Metallica will stream a rehearsal special exclusively on Facebook Live.

The metal monoliths’ event is dubbed ‘Now That We’re Live’ and it will see them play four songs in their entirety including their current single ‘Now That We’re Dead’.

It will stream at 9pm (EST) on Tuesday 9th May, which is 2am on Wednesday 10th May in the UK.

According to an accompanying press release, the performance ‘will offer fans an early glimpse of the groundbreaking production elements of the WorldWired tour’.

Lars Ulrich enthuses: “We are psyched to share some of our rehearsals and final pre-production run-through with our friends around the world, and we hope you’ll come hang with us as we fire up the engines for the North American Summer run.”

A very limited number of Metallica Fifth Club members have the chance of attending the rehearsal by entering a competition on Metallica.com.

Viewers will also be able to donate on Facebook Live to Metallica’s ‘All Within My Hands Foundation’, which supports a cross-section of national, local and Bay Area charities that the individual band members support, as well as music education programs and local food banks.

Yesterday Metallica unveiled details of a vinyl only live album ‘Live At Webster Hall’, which was recorded at the New York venue on 27th September 2016.

Mastered and mixed by the team behind Metallica’s ‘Hardwired… To Self Destruct’, the strictly limited edition album is released as a three LP set this Friday (5th May).

Metallica grace the UK this October for five headline shows taking in London, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham. Standard tickets are completely sold out, however there are select packages remaining from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.
