Metallica To Start Work On Tenth Album In 2014
Lars Ulrich speaks 'Death Magnetic' follow-up
Metallica will commence work on their tenth studio album in 2014, Lars Ulrich has confirmed.
Speaking at the San Diego Comic-Con, 49-year-old Lars said: "We'll have run out of excuses for not doing it by then. 2014 will be all about making a new Metallica record."
2008’s five million selling ‘Death Magnetic’ took over a year to record so it’s unclear whether the album will see the light of day before the end of 2014.
Metallica attended the world famous Comic-Con last Friday (19th July) to promote their upcoming 3D movie ‘Through The Never’, which hits the big screen this autumn.
Directed by Nimrod Antal (Predators, Armored), ‘Through The Never’ fuses live Metallica footage recorded in August 2012 with the fictional story of Trip’s (Dane DeHaan) urgent mission.
After the Q&A session Metallica performed a secret live set at San Diego’s Spreckels Theatre for a lucky handful of fans.
The setlist was as follows:
Creeping Death For Whom the Bell Tolls Fuel Ride the Lightning Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Sad but True One Master of Puppets Blackened Nothing Else Matters Enter Sandman
Last Caress (Misfits cover) Seek & Destroy
