Metallica’s Lars Ulrich says he’d consider moving back to Denmark if Donald Trump enters The White House.

The 52-year-old drummer, who emigrated to America as a teenager in 1980, says he is still a Danish citizen and might go back to his homeland if “everything goes to s***” if Trump becomes President.

"I am a 100% Danish citizen, I pay taxes in the USA but I can't vote in America," Lars told Denmark's Ekstra Bladet (as translated by Blabbermouth).

Quizzed about whether he’d ever go back to Denmark permanently, Lars added: “Yes, certainly sometimes I think about moving home to Denmark.

“I'll stick to my Danish passport. If Trump becomes president and everything goes to s***, I might make my way to the airport and ask if I can get back in again."

In an interview with the BBC last week, singer James Hetfield said the band try to stay quiet on weighty topics such as politics and religion.

"We stay away from politics, from religion,” James said. “That just seems to polarise people even more.

“We all have our own beliefs, but at the end of the day, we're trying to connect with people and it seems like political views don't do that as much as music does."

Boasting the tracks ‘Hardwired’, ‘Moth Into Flame’ and the Lemmy tribute ‘Murder One’, Metallica release their new studio album 'Hardwired... To Self Destruct' on 18th November.
