Metallica’s much-rumoured slot at Glastonbury next month has been officially confirmed.

Following weeks of speculation and various clues from the Eavis family, it’s been announced that Metallica will top the Saturday night Pyramid Stage bill joining fellow headliners Arcade Fire and Kasabian.

Metallica wrote on Twitter last night: "Worst kept secret in rock and roll is now confirmed... see you at @GlastoFest on June 28th! #MetOnTour"

Glastonbury also posted this hilarious clip on Instagram of Michael Eavis dancing to Metallica in his kitchen with his grandson.

Other acts of note taking to Worthy Farm from 25th to 29th June include Robert Plant, The Black Keys, Pixies, Manic Street Preachers, Dolly Parton and Jack White.

All tickets are completely and utterly sold out.
