Thrash metal legends Megadeth have been confirmed as the third and final headliner of Bloodstock Open Air Festival next summer.

The band will bring the Ronnie James Dio Stage to a riotous close on Sunday 10th August in what is certain to be a spectacular performance.

Megadeth lynchpin Dave Mustaine enthused: “2014 is the 20th Anniversary for ‘Youthanasia’, and we are celebrating that by headlining the Bloodstock Festival in the glorious UK.

“Every year Megadeth and our UK fans get closer and celebrate another year of metal greatness together. This is the beginning of 2014... the best is yet to come.”

Megadeth join previously confirmed headliners Down (Friday 8th) and Emperor at the Catton Park, Derbyshire metal extravaganza.

Also on the bill are UK metal icons Saxon, Floridian thrash metallers Flotsam and Jetsam and Polish purveyors of brutal death metal Decapitated.

Tickets to Bloodstock, costing just £115 for the entire weekend, are on sale from kerrangradio.co.uk/tickets right now.

Megadeth’s fourteenth studio album ‘Super Collider’ was released earlier this summer.
