Mastodon’s Brent Hinds breaks leg in motorbike crash

He is pulling out of Giraffe Tongue Orchestra's upcoming shows

Mastodon frontman Brent Hinds has broken his leg in a motorcycle accident.

The metaller took to his Instagram account to share a photo of his leg in a plaster cast and confirm that he will dropping out of supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra’s upcoming live shows.

He wrote: Broke my f***ng leg starting my motorcycle goddamnit. Sorry to all the shows I was about to play with GTO and West End Motel and Fiend Without A Face.

“Life’s a bitch then you die :(happy thanking !”

Also featuring William DuVall of Alice In Chains, Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan, Dethklok’s Pete Griffin and former The Mars Volta member Thomas Prigden, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra are due to make their US debut in Cambridge Massachusetts next Tuesday (29th November).

The tour then takes in shows in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Detroit.

The band haven’t made an announcement yet about whether these shows will be going ahead in the wake of Brent’s accident.

Meanwhile, Mastodon are currently eyeing up a 2017 release date for the follow-up to 2014’s Once More 'Round the Sun.
