Marilyn Manson says new album Say10 is a 'violent' surprise
It sounds nice and ominous
Marilyn Manson has some suitably ominous news about his upcoming new album ‘Say10’.
The shock rock superstar – real name Brian Hugh Warner – says the record is “pretty violent in its nature” and bares more resemblance to ‘Antichrist Superstar’ and ‘Mechanical Animals’ than his last effort ‘The Pale Emperor’.
“It’s not very much in any way like The Pale Emperor,” Marilyn told Rolling Stone. “The people who have heard the new songs said it reminded them of Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals – but with a new, different approach.
“It’s pretty violent in its nature for some reason. It’s not emotional in the same way. It’s got a chip on its shoulder.
“I can’t wait for people to hear it – I think they’re going to be quite surprised.”

Tentatively set for release on Valentine’s Day 2017, Marilyn is currently hard at work on the album with Tyler Bates, Twiggy Ramirez, and Gil Sharone.
Marilyn also explained that filming his part as leech-eating psychopath Thomas Dinley in supernatural TV series Salem brought back memories of his late nineties heyday.
"It did bring back memories of creating Antichrist Superstar, which, strangely enough, October is the 20th anniversary of," Marilyn said.
"I found the supernatural element of the show to be very authentic when I lived in New Orleans: the hoodoo, voodoo, all the Santeria, it was all very much a part of my surroundings when I was making the music I made down there. Maybe that kickstarted my mojo into making a new album."
