Marilyn Manson finishes tenth album and changes its title
It's no longer called 'SAY10'
Shock rock extraordinaire Marilyn Manson has ditched the working title of his tenth studio album.
Last July, Marilyn – real name Brian Hugh Warner – revealed the title of the follow-up to 2015’s ‘The Pale Emperor’ by writing the word ‘SAY10’ onto his hand backstage at the Alternative Press Music Awards.
This week, in a red carpet interview at the Los Angeles premiere of Guy Ritchie’s new movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Marilyn said it now has a different title.
Speaking about the material to Rolling Stone last year, Marilyn said: “It’s not very much in any way like The Pale Emperor. The people who have heard the new songs said it reminded them of Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals – but with a new, different approach.
“I just finished my new album and I’m going on tour in July. The record is called Heaven Upside Down,” Marilyn told Fabulous TV.
“It’s pretty violent in its nature for some reason. It’s not emotional in the same way. It’s got a chip on its shoulder.
“I can’t wait for people to hear it – I think they’re going to be quite surprised.”
It’s not currently clear whether the tentative release date for the record on Valentine’s Day 2018 still stands.
