Marilyn Manson has given fans a health update after collapsing on stage in Houston, Texas on Saturday night (18th August).

According to the Houston Press, photographers in the pit at the Woodlands Pavilion were told to leave shortly before Manson took to the stage as the singer “was feeling very ill and did not want his picture taken.”

Reportedly suffering from food poisoning, a “mostly stationary and visibly shaking” Manson battled through three songs before collapsing during his cover of The Euythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).” Unable to continue, Manson exited the stage.

Taking to Twitter today, Manson – real name Brian Hugh Warner - told fans that he received medical treatment. He wrote: “Thanks Houston for being understanding. I ended up in doctor’s care, but I gave it my best and you guys were amazing.”

After Manson aborted his show early, his Twins Of Evil: The Second Coming tour co-headliner Rob Zombie called on the audience to fill in for Manson on their cover of The Beatles’ ‘Helter Skelter’.

“My dear friend Mr Manson is feeling under the weather,” Zombie said. “He’s probably on the bus feeling like crap. I need a partner for the next song so let’s sing it really loud and make him feel better.”

Last month Manson cancelled a show in Toronto at the 11th hour as he was suffering from flu.

Last September, the shock-rocker was crushed by a stage prop - two large guns held together with metal scaffolding - when it fell on him at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

He broke his fibula bone in his leg in two places and was forced to cancel a string of shows on the North American leg of The Heaven Upside Down Tour.
