LISTEN: Slipknot 'The Negative One'

It's a blistering return to the fray from the masked metallers

After weeks of eerie teasers, on Friday night Slipknot finally unleashed their first new material in six years – the deliciously brutal ‘The Negative One.’

Harking back to early Slipknot, the fast, frenetic and ferocious anthem is a blistering return to the fray for the masked metallers.

The tantalising taster for the band’s fifth studio album is Slipknot’s first release without Paul Gray who died in 2010 and drummer Joey Jordison who acrimoniously exited the group last December.

It’s currently unclear who is filling in for Joey in the rhythm section.

Slipknot’s last record ‘All Hope Is Gone’ hit number two on the UK album chart when it was released in August 2008.
