LISTEN: Nine Inch Nails unleash new song ‘Burning Bright (Field On Fire)’

It's an absolute corker

Published 22nd Dec 2016

Nine Inch Nails have premiered a brand new song called ‘Burning Bright (Field On Fire)’ – and it doesn’t disappoint.

Opening with dizzying distortion, abrasive guitars and Trent’s distorted vocals, the tension is released when he shouts “break through the surface” before we're propelled back into the gloriously murky song.

The track is lifted from Nine Inch Nails’ new EP ‘Not The Actual Events’, which is available to buy now in a limited digital and physical component version here. You can also pre-order the 180 gram 1-sided vinyl here.

The EP is the brainchild of Trent alongside his long-time soundtrack collaborator Atticus Ross, who is now a permanent member of Nine Inch Nails.

Trent says of the EP: “It’s an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make. It’s an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story.”

Nine Inch Nails’ first full release since ‘Hesitation Marks’ in 2013, the track-listing for ‘Not The Actual Events’ is as follows:

1. Branches/Bones 2. Dear World 3. She’s Gone Away 4. The Idea of You 5. Burning Bright (Field on Fire)
