Ahead of the release of their new album ‘Ritual’ on Friday (21st July), In This Moment have unveiled the lyric video for their cover of Phil Collins’ ‘In The Air Tonight’.

Maria Brink and co.’s take on Collins’ track, which has sold over 3.5million copies in the US alone since its release in 1981, simmers with brooding intensity for three-and-a-half minutes before kicking into life with pounding drums and urgent vocals.

Maria says: “We can’t reproduce what (Phil Collins) did in a million years. It’s one of the best songs ever. We did our own interpretation and made it a little more sinister, like our ritual.”

A mainstay of In This Moment’s life sets since the spring, ‘In The Air Tonight’ is the fourth track on ‘Ritual’, which also boasts the Rob Halford collaboration ‘Black Wedding’ and the Kerrang! Radio favourite ‘Oh Lord’.

Produced by longtime collaborator and multiple GRAMMY Award nominee, Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch), 'Ritual' is available to pre-order right now. All digital pre-orders come with an instant grat download of ‘Roots’, ‘Oh Lord’ and ‘In The Air Tonight’.

“When fans hear ‘Ritual’, I want them to feel the music, whether they take away sadness, anger, or happiness,” says lead guitarist, Chris Howorth.

“As a kid, I remember listening to records and putting them on repeat over and over again. I’d love for the world to listen and absorb this as a piece of work.
