LISTEN: Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins announces debut solo album & streams song

The lead song is promising stuff

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has unveiled details of his debut solo album.

Titled ‘Kota’, the mini-album features six songs and will be released on Friday 11th November globally.

An intensely personal record, Taylor himself performs vocals on all tracks and plays “nearly every instrument.”

As a tantalising taster, the lead track ‘Range Rover Bitch’ has been uploaded to streaming sites. A highly promising effort, the song is a rock n’ roll stomper packed with lyrics about a messy breakup: “the Range Rover bitch took it all” and “the prenup meant nothing at all.”

Have a listen to it right here:

The ‘Kota’ track-list is as follows:

  1. Range Rover Bitch 2. Bob Quit His Job 3. Southern Belles 4. Rudy 5. Tokyo No No 6. I’ve Got Some Not Being Around You To Do Today

Currently on hiatus, back in March the Foos released a hilarious mockumentary video denying media reports that they had called it a day.

Highlights include a ridiculously self-absorbed Dave Grohl taking himself far too seriously, the band discussing drafting in Phil Collins and Justin Bieber as their new frontman plus the new incarnation of Foo Fighters featuring boyband singer Nick Lachey singing ‘Everlong’.
