Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda & Rick Astley to record album of Norwegian folk songs?
We'd love to see this happen

Having performed with Foo Fighters twice in 2017, ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hitmaker Rick Astley has now ‘proposed’ collaborating with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.
A Twitter user who goes by the moniker of Blizaliz wrote to both Rick and Mike on Wednesday, saying: “Today I learned that @mikeshinoda has almost the exact same range as @rickastley lol. They are also both Baritone vocalist. Mike's range is between F2-E5!
"Rick's range is between E2-E5! Now I want to see Mike perform "Never Gonna Give You Up" and RickRoll the entire crowd.”
Reacting to the dubious fact, Mike said: “I’m not sure if this is true, but I want it to be true.”
Hungry for more rock collaborations after describing performing with the Foos as among the greatest experiences of his life, Rick made a tongue-in-cheek suggestion to Mike.
The British singer wrote: “Dear Mike. Let's make double album of Norwegian folk songs immediately. Best, Rick x”
Seemingly game for a joining of forces, Mike responded: “Hello Rick, Norwegian folk songs are my favourite kind of folk songs. Also, can I get a signed photo? Our bass player @phoenixlp is a big fan, and his birthday is coming up.”
In other Mike Shinoda news, having released his three-track EP ‘Post Traumatic’ last week, he has now lined up a solo show this summer.
Mike plays Summer Sonic 2018 festival in Japan on the weekend of Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August where he’ll be performing alongside the likes of Queens of The Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Nickelback and many more.
Incidentally, Summer Sonic Festival is the very same event that Foo Fighters and Rick Astley joined forces to perform ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ last summer.
Earlier this week, Mike confirmed that Linkin Park are planning to carry on in the wake of Chester Bennington’s death last year.
He told his Twitter followers: “I have every intention on continuing with LP, and the guys feel the same. We have a lot of rebuilding to do, and questions to answer, so it’ll take time.
