Linkin Park have officially scored the highest charting single of their 24-year recording career with ‘The Emptiness Machine.’
A firm favourite on Kerrang! Radio’s airwaves, ‘The Emptiness Machine’ is the first musical output from the new Linkin Park line-up, and it has debuted at Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart today (13th September).
The song features new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong, who is stepping into the on the late-great Chester Bennington’s shoes, and drummer Colin Brittain who has replaced Rob Bourdon.
Linkin Park’s previous chart peak was Number 6 with ‘What I’ve Done’ back in 2007. ‘In The End’ reached No.8 in 2001 while ‘Numb’ and ‘Crawling’ both dented the Top 20.
‘The Emptiness Machine’ is the first taster of Linkin Park’s new studio album ‘From Zero’, which lands on Friday 15th November.
After unveiling their new incarnation during a livestreamed concert in Los Angeles on Thursday 5th September, Linkin Park played their first full concert in over seven years this week at The Kia Forum.
They play London’s The O2 on 24th September as part of the six-date From Zero World Tour, which also visits New York, Hamburg, Seoul, and Bogota.
