Linkin Park become first American band in 50 years to score three Top 10 albums
They're making chart history in the wake of Chester's death
A total of nine Linkin Park records have entered the Official Chart this week in the wake of Chester Bennington’s death last Thursday (20th July).
Their breakthrough debut 2000 album ‘Hybrid Theory’ is the highest entry at no.4 with this year’s ‘One More Light’ close behind in fifth spot and 2003’s ‘Meteora’ at number seven.
With these trio of chart entries, Linkin Park have become the first American band in 50 years to secure three albums inside the Top 10 at the same time – the last US group to achieve the feat was The Monkees in 1967.
Elsewhere, 2007’s ‘Minutes To Midnight’ is back at 15 and the band’s 2010 release ‘A Thousand Suns’ is a re-entry at Number 38.
Also inside the Top 100 are 2004 Jay-Z collaboration ‘Collision Course’, 2002 remix album ‘Reanimation’, 2012’s ‘Living Things and 2014’s ‘The Hunting Party’.
Over on the singles chart, ‘In The End’ is the highest-charting Linkin Park entry at 14, 2003 single ‘Numb’ is at 20, and their most recently release ‘Heavy’ ft. Kiiara hits a new high at 43.
Earlier today, Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda issued her first statement since her husband’s death saying her family’s “fairytale life” has now “turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy.”

Linkin Park issued their own heartbreaking message on Monday (24th July) and over the weekend they set up a tribute page to Chester for fans to share their memories
