Andy Copping says Limp Bizkit should headline when they next play Download Festival

Download Festival booker Andy Copping has suggested that Limp Bizkit should headline when they next play the Donington Park rock extravaganza.

Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, Wes Borland, John Otto, Sam Rivers and DJ Lethal played the penultimate Apex Stage slot on Sunday evening before headliners Avenged Sevenfold.

The 13-song set, which started and ended with their gloriously angry anthem ‘Break Stuff’, has been cited as one of the stand-out performances of the entire weekend by Download attendees, with many saying they would have been worthy headliners.

Taking to Instagram this afternoon (18th June), Andy Copping shared a photo of himself walking off stage with Fred Durst at the conclusion of Limp Bizkit’s one-hour set.

“Fred and I leaving the stage at the end of a gargantuan performance by LIMP BIZKIT at Download on Sunday,” Copping wrote. “Next time they come back, they have to be headlining, surely?”

Concurring, chef and rock music aficionado Simon Wood responded: “They were phenomenal, performance of the weekend for me. They have it all.”

Another Download attendee wrote: “Being in the middle of the crowd, I think they were the headliners, for me at least…”

Next year's Download Festival takes place from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June 2025, and early bird tickets are on sale now.
