Sonisphere organisers have added ten eclectic acts to this summer’s festival.

Heading to the historic grounds of Knebworth House are nu metal heroes Limp Bizkit, thrash icons Anthrax and mighty cockney troubadours Chas & Dave!

Completing the new additions are Carnifex, Devin Townsend Project, Dropkick Murphys, The Sisters of Mercy, Silverstein, The Virginmarys and Voodoo Six.

Clearly excited about Anthrax’s slot, lynchpin Scott Ian said: “I'm so excited for Anthrax to be a part of the biggest and best Sonisphere ever! Can't wait to destroy Knebworth again!”

Typically blasé for a band of their meteoric stature, Chase & Dave stated matter-of-factly: "We went down well at Knebworth in '79. Not surprised we got a return booking."

And Devin Townsend said: “Amidst a year of relentless writing and planning, we are fortunate enough to be invited to a select few shows, and among the most cool is undoubtedly Sonisphere UK!

“It’s an institution that is really exciting, among bands we absolutely love. We can’t wait to take a studio break and come entertain you there.”

The fresh wave of acts join the previously unveiled headliners The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica plus Alice In Chains, Slayer, Airbourne, Mastodon, Ghost, Gojira and Karnivool.
