As I Lay Dying's Tim Lambesis Arrested
The 32 year old is accused of trying to have his wife murdered
As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis has been arrested in Southern California on suspicion of being at the centre of a plot to kill his wife.
The 32 year old singer is accused of trying to hire a man to murder Meggan Lambesis.
Police say they knew what he was trying to do and sent an undercover detective to speak to him.
San Diego County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Jan Caldwell: "The information came to us late last week. We acted quickly on it. I believe that we averted a great tragedy"
The couple have been living apart since last year, and Meggan filed for divorce last September.
No comments have been released by the singer's legal team, the band or their label. The group had recently returned from a tour of Asia, and were gearing up for a run of dates across the US supporting Killswitch Engage.
Lambesis is a founder member of the group which started out in San Diego in 2000. They've brought out 6 albums, most recently Awakened in September 2012. Nothing Left, from 2007 album An Ocean Between Us, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008 in the Best Metal Performance category
