Kurt Cobain & Dave Grohl 'Give Birth' In Bizarre Nirvana Video
The 'In Utero' trailer was recorded back in 1993
A rare and totally bonkers promotional trailer for Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ has surfaced online.
Recorded to promote the album’s release back in September 1993, the 30-second clip stars Bobcat Goldthwait of Police Academy fame as a female birthing mentor who is flanked by plucked chickens in tartan nappies and a speaking fish.
Goldthwait then coaches heavily pregnant trio Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl into giving birth by shouting "Pain is beautiful! So remember mothers, love your pain!"
The madcap 30 seconds ends with the four of them contemplating eating placenta soup. Watch it below.
The baby and birthing themes reflect the album ‘In Utero’ which is Latin for ‘In The Womb’ and featured a macabre collage of baby fetuses on the back sleeve.
Following the ‘Nevermind’ reissue in 2011, the 20th anniversary edition of ‘In Utero’ is released this September.
