Korn confirm they're getting together with Fieldy

Korn have told Kerrang! Radio they’re still in contact with bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu and they’re going to meet up with him once they’ve finished their current tour in support of new album ‘Requiem.’

In June 2021, Fieldy issued a statement confirming he was taking an indefinite hiatus from Korn while he deals with “personal issues” that caused him “to fall back on some of my bad habits.”

Confirming this caused “tension” within Korn, he added: “It’s been suggested to me to take some time off to heal. I’m going to respect what was asked of me and take that time.”

Korn guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch and drummer Ray Luzier spoke to Kerrang! Radio’s Johnny Doom backstage at Download Festival ahead of their triumphant Apex Stage performance on Sunday 12th June, and they gave an update on Fieldy.

“Yeah, we've been in contact with (Fieldy),” Head said. “I just emailed him the other day. So, we're gonna get together and talk to him and see how he's doing and see where his head is at after this tour.

“Me and Munk (James ‘Munky’ Shaffer) were just talking about it. So, we love him. We've been in communication with him, and we'll see.”

Elsewhere during the chat, Head extolled the importance of bands performing their biggest songs at festivals.

“We know what people want to hear and we still love playing the songs because the crowd interaction together feeds the energy,” Head explained. “So, we still love playing ‘Blind’, even though I've been playing that since I was 24 years old.”
