Killswitch Engage have been unveiled as the Sunday night headliners of Hevy Fest this summer.

The Massachusetts metalcore band’s closing slot will be their only UK festival appearance of 2013.

Frontman Jesse Leach enthused: “We are super excited to be on Hevy Fest this year! With a long list of punk, hardcore, and metal bands to do this in the past it is an honour!

“From what we have heard this year has a killer line up so again we are all excited for this!

“This is really my kind of festival with the diversity of bands and what seems to be a more down to earth atmosphere than your run of the mill fest. Looking forward to bringing the rage in August!”

Also newly confirmed for Heavy Fest are American Me, Black Dogs, Coliseum, Earthtone 9, Empress, Eyehategod, Give ‘Em Blood, Goodtime Boys, It Prevails, Liferuiner, More Than Life, Polar, Raein and Xerxes.

The all join a brutal bill that already boasts Friday night headliner Black Flag, The Catharsis, The Menzingers, Heights, Hatebreed, Comeback Kid and more.

Celebrating its fifth birthday, Hevy Fest takes place in Folkestone, Kent from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th August 2013.
