Kerrang! Radio's Finding Fresh Blood winner to play Download Festival 2021

We can officially confirm that the winner of Kerrang! Radio’s Finding Fresh Blood competition will play Download Festival 2021.
Back in January, we at Kerrang! Radio launched our annual competition for bands to open The Avalanche Stage at Download Festival 2020 – and once again a veritable smorgasbord of phenomenal bands entered.
With Download Festival 2020 sadly cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, we’re pleased to announce that the winner will play Download Festival in June 2021 instead.
Our official statement reads: “Thank you to everyone that entered this year’s Finding Fresh Blood competition – the shortlist of finalists have been selected and the team at Download will be selecting a winner, who will perform at next year’s legendary festival!
“Keep your eyes peeled to our socials and listen to Alex Baker’s Fresh Blood on Wednesday nights, where he’ll soon be revealing the winner.”
The Kerrang! Radio Finding Fresh Blood competition launched in 2019 with winners PENGSHUi bestowed with the prestigious honour of opening The Avalanche Stage.
In the wake of Download Festival 2020 being cancelled last month, organisers launched a charity Download Festival T-Shirt, which has raised well in excess of £100,000 for the NHS.
