We’re proud to announce that the very first Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood live event takes place at The Borderline in London on Thursday 19th October.
Hosted by Kerrang! Radio’s very own Alex Baker and fuelled by Fireball, the quarterly event promotes some of the most exciting talent in the country.
The eclectic inaugural line-up boasts Liverpudlian pop punk bastions WSTR, the ridiculously talented Grumble Bee (aka Jack Bennett) and grunge pop trio Hey Charlie. There’s also one more equally incredible act to announce!
Tickets costing just £6 (plus booking fee) are on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now!
Explaining the idea behind the event, Alex Baker said: "People always ask me this question: ‘What can my band do to help us reach the next level?’ My answer? ‘You HAVE to play a decent show in London.’
“Whether you like it or not, 90% of the industry is in London, and doing a great show in front of the right people is invaluable. Booking agents, labels, managers, PR people, journalists, tastemakers – they all need to be there!
“Years ago I decided I wanted to put these showcases on, but promoting shows is NOT my forte AT ALL… I needed to find someone who was amazing at it and cared as much about supporting new talent as I do.
“And then… one day, the stars aligned, and I met Hanna Mee at SJM. Hannah and I decided to make our shared dream a reality. A night in London, every 3 months, with an audience half made up of fans, half made up on music industry – a proper showcase with a dirt cheap ticket price for the fans, in an iconic venue, with a four band bill… no easy task!
“We needed a backer to pull this off, but luckily James and the guys at Fireball also REALLY care about new music – so they have to come on board to fuel the whole thing!!
“So here we are! I’m so excited to announce our very first Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood LIVE event, at The Borderline in London with 4 SICK bands: Hey Charlie, Grumble Bee, WSTR and one more (that we aren’t allowed to announce yet, who are equally mind blowingly sick).
“I’ll see you down the front!”
