Crowd-funding campaign launched to support Keith Flint memorial in London
The mural is planned to be unveiled on Suicide Prevention Day

Keith Flint is set to be commemorated with a memorial in London. The late Prodigy frontman will be honoured with a mural to mark World Suicide Prevention Day (10th September).
The music and wellbeing festival, Headstock, have enlisted street artist Akse P19 to complete the work, which is being planned to appear on Beechwood Road in Hackney, near the Four Aces Club where The Prodigy played their first gig in 1990.
The charity has previously collaborated with Akse P19 on a mural of Joy Division’s late frontman Ian Curtis, a piece that was unveiled by the vocalist’s former band member Peter Hook, to mark World Mental Health Day in 2020.
In order to fund the mural, a Crowdfunder page has been set up with its organisers aiming to raise £12,500 in donations from fans. So far, £1,400 has been raised for the piece and will close on 31st August.
A statement regarding the tribute reads: “The purpose of the mural is to raise awareness of mental health text message support service, Shout 85258, and the charity’s logo and text support number will feature prominently on the artwork.”
Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, the date also falls the week before what would have been Flint’s 52nd birthday. The frontman died on 4th March 2019, at the age of 49.
The funds raised will go towards the artist’s time, materials, travel, accommodation and support crew, and will also help to cover hard costs like scissor lift hire, Public Liability Insurance, Pavement Licence, and Health and Safety management.
Last month saw the Manchester-based artist restore his mural of footballer Marcus Rashford, the artwork that was destroyed in the aftermath of England’s loss in the Euros 2020.
The surviving members of The Prodigy marked the second anniversary of Flint’s death back in March: “It’s been two years. We miss you so much brother, your light burns bright, your energy will never fade, keep it real, keep it punk rock. We live forever! LH & MAXIM.”
