Kasabian To Play Leicester Homecoming Gig in June 2014

The band are "hugely honoured" to be playing their home town

Kasabian have announced details of a huge homecoming show next summer.

Fresh from storming Queen Elizabeth Park this year, the indie-rock giants will play Leicester Victoria Park on Saturday 21st June 2014.

Delighted at the prospect, Kasabian guitarist and chief songwriter Serge Pizzorno said: “We are hugely honoured to be playing in our home town at such an incredible setting right in the heart of the city.

“It's a happening we've been planning for years. Summer solstice is coming; set the controls for the heart of the sun.”

Leicester City Mayor Peter Soulsby said: "Leicester is incredibly proud ofKasabian and we are delighted to host this homecoming concert to celebrate these local heroes.

“There can be no doubt that this will be one of the musical highlights anywhere in the country next summer."

Tickets, priced at ÂŁ39.50 plus booking fee, go on sale from 9am on Friday 29th November.

Kasabian are currently recording their fifth studio album.
